About the Role

We are supporting a confidential Materials Manager search for an automotive manufacturing facility in Fremont, Ohio.

This person will lead production scheduling, inventory control, material planning, customer releases, vendor releases, warehousing, shipping, receiving, freight management, and ERP based materials activity.

The right candidate will understand how material flow affects plant performance. This role requires someone who can maintain production continuity, manage inventory, respond to changing customer demand, control freight expense, and lead a plant materials team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the plant materials department.

• Manage production scheduling and material planning.

• Maintain appropriate raw material and finished goods inventory levels.

• Analyze customer releases and translate demand into production and supplier requirements.

• Perform MRP activity and generate vendor releases.

• Oversee warehousing, shipping, and receiving.

• Manage inventory control and material availability.

• Optimize freight cost and reduce unnecessary premium freight.

• Maintain accurate ERP and AS400 materials information.

• Manage the department operating budget.

• Support safe work practices and plant operating requirements.

• Develop employees and improve materials team performance.

Qualifications

• College diploma, university degree, or 5 to 8 years of materials, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing experience.

• 2 to 3 years of supervisory or management experience.

• Experience with production scheduling, inventory control, MRP, and vendor releases.

• Knowledge of purchasing, traffic, warehousing, shipping, and receiving.

• Experience within a just in time manufacturing environment.
