We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and expanding Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a comprehensive and patient-centered cardiovascular program that continues to grow in both size and scope. This hire will be utilized for as-needed, day-shift coverage on the inpatient team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. The primary need for coverage is on Saturdays; however, this hire will also be able to fill in open 8-hour shifts during the week. Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings. Performs complete histories and physical examinations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. Qualifications Education Master’s Degree Nursing required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
