PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials Functional Lead Consultant (Higher Ed Business Unit)

About the Role

Our Higher Education practice at Sierra-Cedar is seeking a motivated and experienced PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials Functional Lead. This Senior Consultant level role is a hands-on functional role supporting one of the core systems institutions rely on to manage the student financial lifecycle, including billing, payments, refunds, collections, third-party sponsorships, and integration with financial systems.

This role may also expand to include Oracle Student Management Student Financials projects in the future, making an interest in cloud technologies and evolving Oracle higher education solutions a plus.

Our strongest consultants come from a variety of backgrounds. Many have worked for consulting firms, Oracle partners, or Oracle itself, implementing and optimizing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials for colleges and universities.

At the same time, some of our best consultants started their careers on campus and have been part of a related implementation. You may currently work in a Bursar's Office, Student Accounts Office, Controller's Office, or business operations team, supporting student receivables, billing, cashiering, collections, refunds, payment plans, or reconciliation processes. You may also be a functional analyst or systems administrator responsible for configuring and supporting the Student Financials module.

What You'll Do

• Lead or contribute to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials implementations for higher education institutions from planning through deployment
• Partner with clients to evaluate current Student Financials configurations, business processes, and operational requirements
• Analyze and optimize Student Financials business processes including tuition and fee assessment, billing, cashiering, collections, refunds, payment plans, and payment processing
• Configure and troubleshoot Student Financials functionality including tuition calculation, refund processing, aging analysis, third-party billing, sponsor contracts, and general ledger integration
• Provide support for item type setup, trees, charge priority, payment application, and unapplied payments
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend solutions that align business requirements with delivered functionality and best practices
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through system enhancements and increased adoption of delivered functionality
• Support data mapping, conversion, validation, and testing activities during implementation projects
• Develop functional requirements for reports, interfaces, and integrations that support institutional business needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Student Accounts, Bursar, Financial Aid, Finance, and related departments
• Facilitate work sessions, requirements gathering, solution reviews, testing activities, and knowledge transfer with client teams
• Mentor team members and provide guidance on projects where you serve in a lead capacity

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Higher Education Administration, or a related field

• Hands-on functional experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials gained through implementation, configuration, support, or optimization projects
• Strong understanding of higher education business processes, including student accounts, billing, collections, refunds, cashiering, payment plans, and related financial operations
• Experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into system solutions
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills

Strongly Preferred

• Consulting experience implementing or optimizing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials for colleges and universities
• Experience leading functional workstreams, workshops, fit-gap sessions, testing activities, and client meetings
• Implementation experience within a college or university environment
• Working knowledge of other Oracle higher education solutions, including additional Campus Solutions modules or Oracle Cloud applications
• Interest in learning and supporting Oracle Student Management Student Financials solutions

Bonus Points

• Oracle Cloud or PeopleSoft certification
• Experience leading project teams or functional workstreams
• Experience supporting multiple institutions or complex higher education environments

This position requires approximately 30% travel to client sites (nationwide) as well as remote work from your home office within the United States only – International locations will not be considered. This full-time role may include working occasional nights and weekends to support project milestones .
