Staff Accountant / Tax Preparer

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Tax Preparer to join a growing tax and accounting practice. This role is ideal for someone who has experience working in a busy tax office and is looking for an opportunity to continue building their skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and assist with individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returnsAssemble, organize, and review client documents in preparation for tax return completionGather and summarize financial information, including bank statements, receipts, and supporting documentationAssist with preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysisSupport bookkeeping and accounting functions using double-entry accounting principlesPrepare or help gather information needed for business tax returns, with an immediate focus on corporate/business return supportAnalyze financial data and prepare detailed reports for internal use or client deliverablesCommunicate clearly with clients and team members in person, by phone, and via emailProvide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situationsBuild and develop client relationships over time, with the potential to take on and grow a client baseQualifications2+ years of tax preparation experience requiredExperience in a fast-paced tax office strongly preferredStrong knowledge of individual and business tax preparationFamiliarity with corporate tax returns and comfort working with business clients is requiredUnderstanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, debits, and creditsExperience preparing financials or gathering information needed to prepare financial statementsProficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks OnlineExperience with ProSeries tax software strongly preferredStrong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook/email platformsExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a demanding environmentCTEC preferred; EA is a plus, though not requiredFor immediate consideration, contact Robert Half at View phone number on click.appcast.io.
