Accounting Specialist

Location Minnetonka, MN (this is a schedule requiring immediate and consistent time on-site in MN) Pay Rate $60-$65k annually Benefits This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) Local Minnesota/Western Wisconsin applicants only. Overview We are seeking an Accounting Representative to join a stable and well-established organization supporting a high-volume transactional accounting environment. This role will be responsible for a blend of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger support. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working through accounting discrepancies while supporting month-end activities. Responsibilities Process and review accounting transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily business operations Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, account variances, and vendor inquiries Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting Reconcile vendor accounts, customer balances, and general ledger accounts Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and supported Review transactional data for accuracy and identify issues requiring follow-up or correction Support accounting activities related to freight charges, inventory adjustments, and other operational transactionsPartner with internal teams to answer questions, resolve issues, and maintain accurate financial records Maintain organized documentation and supporting schedules for accounting transactions Provide backup support across the accounting team and assist with special projects as needed Contribute to process improvement efforts and support ongoing system enhancements Qualifications 3+ years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting concepts Experience researching and resolving accounting discrepancies independently Ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Experience working within ERP or accounting systems Bachelor's degree preferred but not required Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to build relationships across departments and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders Experience in manufacturing, distribution, commodities, or inventory-based environments is a plus Background working with freight invoices, chargebacks, or inventory-related transactions is beneficial Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
