Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA, NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start), 4 trauma credits (must be completed within the first two weeks from start) Must-Have: Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, inpatient only Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities consistent with established nursing practices. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Working conditions include standing and walking most of the time on duty. Meets unit-specific physical demands. Requires significant bending, stooping, and lifting with assistance. May be required to work differing schedules and shifts according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids is present in this role. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., and pinching up to 15 lbs. Must be able to kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care in instances of trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other staff members. Coordinates patient care tasks to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Maintains obligations consistent with nursing standards.
