RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

12-hour night shifts, with weekends scheduled as required.

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit provides high acuity care for a range of patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes through assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care plans.

Responsibilities:

• Manage up to 6 patients, typically maintaining a ratio of 1:5.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; RN must be able to read and act on information from tele techs.
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, and Heparin.
• Provide care for chest pain, r/o MI, CHF, arrhythmias, and other intermediate care patients.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists available in-house 24/7.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with telemetry and titrating intravenous medications.
