Registered Nurse Manager

Registered Nurse Manager

The Registered Nurse Manager is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers as needed. Major duties include, but not limited to:

  • Demonstrates the fundamental knowledge of the unit and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
  • Responsible for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
  • Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and participating in process improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution.
  • Promotes an inclusive workplace valuing diversity to achieve the organizations vision and mission.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Work Schedule: Full-time, compressed tour potential; 24/7 unit accountability

Compressed/Flexible: Available

Telework: Eligible, as determined by the agency policy (Ad-Hoc)

Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized

  • Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50 (Notice of Personnel Action). The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held.
  • The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.
  • Veterans' preference does not apply for internal or other current permanent Federal agency employees.
