Aspire: Five Week Program Support Accompanist

Position Overview Seeking both upright and/or electric bassists for Berklee Student Employment as part of a part‑time ensemble program. Students will play with a rhythm section across a wide range of styles and perform a final concert. Pay rate: $17.51 per hour for Student Worker 3. Requirements Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half‑time in a degree, diploma, or certificate‑seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled; in that case the student must be pre‑registered for the upcoming fall semester. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in valid Visa status as applicable. Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (students in their first semester may work prior to GPA determination). Federal Work Study students may apply. In good disciplinary standing. Must be located in the U.S. All accompanists must be able to sight‑read lead sheets and rhythm section charts that include time slashes, chord progressions, and additional rhythmic figures. Must be reliable, patient, cooperative, and open to taking direction or critique from instructors or students. Only candidates who have completed all of these requirements can be considered. Responsibilities Play with the ensemble in rehearsals, sight‑read and practice material covering pop, rock, jazz, Latin, country, R&B, and funk, and perform a short concert at the end of the program.
