Non‑Fleet Sales Representative – Transportation Insurance (Louisville, KY, USA) Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) As a Sales Representative on the Non‑Fleet Sales team, you will be responsible for identifying, originating, and closing new business opportunities while delivering comprehensive insurance solutions to transportation clients. Responsibilities Identify, originate, and close new business opportunities. Develop a complete understanding of the full scope of our services and systems. Field inbound calls from prospects, completing applications for submission to external companies. Capture the appropriate information and answer all questions while suggesting additional coverages. Enter information into Epic as well as other company systems with close attention to detail. Review quotes to confirm accuracy and prepare and sell proposals to prospects within standard time frames. Assist Client Managers with cross‑selling opportunities including owner‑operator leasing to current Motor Carrier customers and NTU’s moving to primary coverage. Solicit new customers from ICC lists and referrals. Make outbound calls to prospects and referrals as directed. Align agency technical resources with prospect and client needs to solve problems. Identify target markets and companies based on appetite and prospect exposures. Contribute to client satisfaction and continually improve service to clients. Generate and pursue new client opportunities. Participate in the presentation of our services in addition to supporting lines of coverage at prospect proposals. Bring new business prospects to closure. Bring energy and motivation to the team‑player atmosphere, always striving for success. Meet given performance measures related to the job function. Complete other duties and responsibilities assigned as business conditions change. Qualifications College‑level education or equivalent business‑related experience preferred. Appropriate resident and non‑resident (Property & Casualty and Life & Health) insurance licenses required by law. Willingness to earn necessary designations such as CPCU or STAR. Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as insurance policies, applications, and proposals. Attention to detail. Effective telephone communication skills for soliciting new business. Ability to sit and concentrate for long periods. Strong oral and written communication skills for relaying complex information to agency personnel and clients.
