ACCOUNTANT TRAINEE

Accountant Trainee Salary: $4,442.00 - $5,296.00 per Month. New to State candidates may be hired into minimum salary of the classification. Work Location Hybrid – telework allowed, office located at 1220 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. Responsibilities Perform professional accounting work in the establishment and maintenance of accounts and records for the Department. Complete work assignments within assigned deadlines. Develop and maintain working relationships, treat others with respect, remain objective and open‑minded during interactions. Participate in meetings and share ideas to support a well‑organized environment. Work as a team, independently and demonstrate initiative in process improvement. Follow verbal and/or written instructions. Essential Functions As an employee of the California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA), you are required to perform the “essential functions” of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Education, training, or experience in accounting principles and financial systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other financial systems. Experience in processing payments against contracts and/or purchase orders. Strong attention to detail and written/vernal communication skills.
