Health, Safety, Security & Environment Director - JLL What this job involves - The HSSE Director will be responsible for implementing and managing the JLL Health and Safety operations across a portfolio and for leading a compliance and training program that meets JLL, client and statutory requirements. There may be periodic travel to various operations sites to review site activities, to investigate events or problems, as well as travel to various meetings may be required. What your day-to-day will look like: Become the primary point of contact for HSSE requirements and activities for the account. Communicate HSSE needs and results to the Account Leadership Team. Play a lead role in the continued development and refinement of JLL’s HSSE culture and training programs on the account. Lead a team of HSSE professionals and provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support on HSSE regulatory compliance issues. Ensure development and maintenance of the account training matrix. Collaborate with the JLL HSSE Life Sciences team to share best practices across accounts. Manage trend analysis to adjust management systems as necessary. Provide JLL Team and Client Team with key performance and risk indicators. Ensure that HSSE accidents, injuries, near misses/good catches are properly managed and reviewed for trends. Participate with operating sites as needed to lead or support investigations of serious safety events, the analysis of root cause(s), support/track the implementation of effective corrective actions, and prepare communications to share the lessons-learned from such events across the account operations. Support environmental compliance efforts as specified in the JLL/client Master Service Agreement (MSA)/Statement of Work (SOW). Maintain account HSSE procedures, documentation and records. Support ISO 45001 & 14001 management system certification activities. Key contact for client support related to HSSE communications and activities. Required Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field. 8+ years of HSSE experience Experience managing multi-site operations and matrix team Practical working knowledge of Health and Safety tools and techniques, ideally within a Facilities Management environment. Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards, legislation, codes of practice, guidance and operating procedures. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and clients. Ability to work through and identify the root cause of any problem. Preferred Qualifications: General Industry OSHA certifications (CHM, CSHM, CIH, CEP, etc.) GMP/GxP experience or famarility with Life Sciences industry Relevant professional certification(s) or masters’ degree Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or other relevant credentials Location : South San Francisco, CA (travel up to 20%) #J-18808-Ljbffr Board of Certified Safety Professionals
