Sr Tax Accountant

Senior Tax AccountantThe Senior Tax Accountant will report to the Senior Director of Tax and will assist with the following tasks related to indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, property tax, and other business licenses and fees: tax accounting, tax compliance, tax planning, people & process development, and communication & collaboration with all internal and external business partners.Essential FunctionsPrepare monthly and quarterly tax journal entriesPerform monthly account reconciliations for tax accountsFacilitate the preparation of tax returns and payments in coordination with outside consultantsReview tax returns and filingsPrepare taxable income projections used to forecast cash taxes payable for relevant jurisdictionsAssist with indirect tax auditsResolve and respond to tax noticesMonitor and analyze new tax developments, including laws, regulations, court cases and other guidance; ensure the Company's compliance with relevant jurisdiction requirementsPlay an active role in developing, refining and implementing department processes and the Company's tax strategyAssist in the preparation of SOX documentationPlay an active role in the rollout of Avalara fleet-widePerform other tax projects and tasks as assignedQualificationsBachelor's and Master's Degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidateDemonstrates an eagerness to learnEnjoys a balance between independent work and collaboration with the teamTakes ownership of individual and team tasks; participates in planning the strategy and then executing with accuracyHighly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities with the demands of the businessDemonstrates an appropriate sense of urgency, in particular around deadlines2+ years of indirect tax experience at a large public accounting firm or industryExperience with Avalara preferredExperience with tax software implementation preferredWork Location DetailsWork Location: Home Office - Coppell, TXWork Schedule: HybridOnsite: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and ThursdaysWork from Home: Mondays and FridaysAbout At HomeDiscover At Home, the Home and Holiday Décor Superstore with endless aisles of must-have styles at prices so low you won't believe it.
