Onsite Chromatography Laboratory Instrument Specialist III

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an experienced service engineer to provide onsite maintenance, repair, and installation support for chromatography systems at a Cambridge, Massachusetts customer location. The role involves troubleshooting sophisticated laboratory equipment, managing customer relationships, and documenting service activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HPLC, UPLC, FPLC, and related laboratory equipment
- Conduct installations, calibrations, and preventative maintenance services at customer locations
- Manage customer service requests and schedule appointments through service management software
- Document all service activities and maintain accurate records upon task completion
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding service schedules and technical issues
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; BS in Life Sciences or Electronics preferred
- 3+ years independent maintenance and repair experience with HPLC, UPLC, or FPLC systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems with electro-mechanical instrumentation
- Strong customer communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency reading technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance and carry 25–30 lbs continuously
- Mass spectrometry experience preferred
Compensation: $40.06–$60.09 hourly
