Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Day shift: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. Job Description The CVICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing critical care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures including open-heart surgeries. This role requires expertise in managing complex cardiovascular conditions and postoperative care. Responsibilities Monitor and manage patients post cardiac surgery directly from the OR. Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including using ECMO and IABP. Oversee pulmonary artery line (Swan Ganz) monitoring and arterial line management. Administer blood products and manage central lines. Provide continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac drips. Care for ventilated patients and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs). Uphold isolation precautions and PPE protocols. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of CC experience required. Must have CVICU or open heart experience.
