Area Office Clerk IV – Department of Developmental Services The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and reliable individual to manage and maintain the reception area of the Cape & Islands Area Office. The role requires strong social and interpersonal skills to interact with the public, answer telephones, greet visitors, and provide routine information regarding agency services according to established procedures. Responsibilities Maintain Area Office systems and processes. Operate standard office machines and equipment; maintain supplies and report equipment issues to ensure office efficiency. Input data into the Hub/HCSIS consistently to ensure proper enrollment of individuals. Analyze and manage data from the HUB, HCSIS and EIM. Serve as a resource for staff to resolve computer difficulties and as a point person for Hub and HCSIS issues. Preferred Qualifications Excellent communication and organizational skills. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to file material in accordance with standard filing procedures. Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions and to compile, interpret data and prepare complex reports. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize requests to adequately support the office. Agency Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Must possess a current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Schedule & Location Full‑time – 37.5‑hour weekly position – 1st shift (Day Shift) – Monday through Friday 8:45 am to 5:00 pm. Days off: Saturday and Sunday. Location: United States – Massachusetts – South Yarmouth, 519 Station Avenue. Education & Experience Applicants must have at least three years of full‑time, or equivalent part‑time, experience in office work, or a combination of required experience and the following educational substitutions: • One diploma from a recognized high school business or commercial course may substitute for up to one year of the required experience. • A diploma from a other recognized high school course or a high‑school equivalency certificate may substitute for up to eight months of the required experience. • One‑year, full‑time or equivalent part‑time program in a non‑degree granting business or secretarial school may substitute for up to one year of experience. • Two‑year, full‑time or equivalent part‑time program in a non‑degree granting business or secretarial school may substitute for two years of experience. Education toward a degree or diploma will be prorated based on the proportion of requirements actually completed. Compensation Salary range: $52,269.10 – $69,313.40 per year.
