RN - Acute Care | ACLS Certified

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional caregiving with a focus on acute care patients. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessment, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure continuity and excellence of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and education.
• Provide accurate and timely information to physicians and healthcare team members.
• Document patient care, including medications, vital signs, and intake/output, and develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Deliver direct patient care adhering to legal and professional standards.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth.
• Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience of one year or more is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.
• Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.
• Respect for patient privacy and adherence to HIPAA standards.
• Effective organizational and prioritization skills within a nursing unit.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and reaching as required by patient care duties.

Work Environment

This full-time position involves 12-hour day shifts within a 40-hour workweek, located in a regional healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest.
