About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel with a focus on labor and employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for a diverse range of employment matters, including handling a docket of single-plaintiff and class/collective employment cases in courts and arbitration across the U.S. and Canada. This role requires expertise in various employment claims, such as wage/hour, discrimination, FMLA, and retaliation. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, a sense of humor, curiosity, and a drive for continuous effort. They should be a self-starter with a relentless engagement and initiative, capable of managing simultaneous time-sensitive matters and embracing opportunities for professional growth. Applicants must have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, be licensed in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and have a minimum of 5 years' of experience in employment litigation. Prior experience in traditional labor law, including union avoidance and unfair labor practices, is preferred. The role also involves providing legal advice on general issues, collaborating within the legal department, and supporting operational objectives. The candidate should be adept at managing outside counsel, keeping abreast of legal developments, and providing strategic and analytical legal counsel. Strong judgment, excellent research, writing, and communication skills are essential for this position.
