Job Description

This position is for a Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. The role requires a strong background in sterile processing within a clinical environment, particularly in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments in accordance with established protocols.
• Assemble and wrap surgical instruments for various types of surgical cases.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Participate in rotating weekend shifts and holiday rotations as required.
• May be required to float or be assigned to different surgical units as necessary to meet facility needs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, with Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping is essential.
• Preferred experience with surgical cases including Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN.
• National Certifications required: CBSPD (Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) and/or HSPA (Health System Pharmacists Association).
• BLS certification is not required for this position.

Additional Information

• Shift: Night 5x8 hours (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
• Travel may be necessary to multiple locations within the region.
• All time-off requests must be submitted before contract signing; no requests will be approved post-signing.
• Guaranteed hours include the allowance for the facility to call off 1 shift every two weeks.
• Expectations may include participation in emergency response teams during hurricane season from June through November.
• Parker cost for nights and weekends will be applicable.
