About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience required; inpatient psychiatric experience must be within the last 3 months License: Active Vermont RN license required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS certification required Must-Have: Recent child psychiatric experience in the last 3 months; supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment; psych skills checklist from within the last year; willing to float to other units and take charge shifts; experience with specific patient populations Description: The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions. The nursing process is utilized to meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care. Clinical supervision of mental health workers is provided to ensure the safe and therapeutic delivery of care. This treatment program offers 24-hour care in a safe and nurturing environment designed to promote healing and ongoing recovery. The treatment approach focuses on helping patients develop and maintain their sobriety while managing co-occurring psychiatric issues such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. The treatment team specializes in providing high-quality interventions, medically assisted drug and alcohol withdrawal, stabilization, and education to ensure a strong and successful recovery. Recent experience working with child and adolescent populations experiencing serious emotional and behavioral challenges is essential. The ability to float to other units and take charge shifts is required. Candidates must be comfortable and highly experienced in this specialty area.
