Provides individualized support and training to assist persons with developmental disabilities in developing skills and accessing varied social, recreation, leisure, and work opportunities within the community as well as facility-based activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prevention and management of a crisis to provide a safe environment.
• Provide supervision and actively engage participants while providing positive reinforcement.
• Facilitate opportunities in the community to be included in work exposure and experience, social activities, and recreational leisure activities.
• Build natural supports and community connections.
• Maintain effective communication and active engagement in supporting the habilitation needs of assigned clients.
• Complete and maintain paperwork per Brightlight Care policy and procedures.
• Ensure completion and maintenance of all relevant training requirements.
• Safely transport clients to and from the day program and community connections, including compliance with all vehicle use policies.
• Implement protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience:

No experience necessary!

License:

• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Social Security Card/Green Card (Required)

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current driver's license and good motor vehicle record - able to provide transportation in company vehicle.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to safely stand, pivot, and move up to 75 pounds in order to transfer people is required.
• 19 years of age or older.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Heart for people with developmental disabilities.

Training/Certificates Needed .

You will have 90 days from the date of hire to complete In-house orientations, QMAP, CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Driver's Safety, Universal Precautions, and or any other training mandated by the State.
