PR Account Director - Financial Services

About the Job

What You'll Do

• Lead PR strategy for financial services clients
• Oversee day-to-day account management and keep projects moving on schedule
• Serve as a senior contact for clients and provide strategic counsel
• Develop story ideas, messaging, media plans, and communications strategies
• Write and edit press releases, media pitches, thought leadership pieces, bylines, and other client materials
• Pitch reporters, editors, producers, and podcast hosts to secure meaningful coverage
• Build and maintain strong media relationships across business, finance, and consumer outlets
• Mentor junior team members and help them strengthen their media relations and client management skills
• Support new business efforts and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts

What We're Looking For

• Experience working in a PR agency environment
• Direct experience managing financial services clients
• Strong media relationships and a proven ability to secure coverage that matters
• Experience placing stories across print, digital, broadcast, podcasts, and speaking opportunities
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Confidence managing clients, presenting ideas, and navigating challenging conversations when needed
• Ability to lead projects and teams while balancing multiple priorities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• A self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what needs to happen next

Compensation

Base salary range: $110,000–$125,000 , depending on experience, expertise, and overall fit.
