HLA Technologist - Part Time

Job Description About the HLA Technologist Participates in all aspects of ABO and donor histocompatibility testing including test management, performance, and evaluation. Determines donor’s HLA and ABO initial typing within a pre-determined turnaround time. HLA Typing using Real-Time PCR method. Routine equipment maintenance. Assists with quality control and quality assurance. Participates in transplant on-call rotation. Note: This is a part-time position, meaning the employee will work on an as-needed basis. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary depending on operational requirements. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility or supplemental income. Schedule: Part-time (as needed, flexible hours). Donor Network of Arizona's HLA laboratory is a 24/7 operation. Shift: Varies based on department needs, including weekends and holidays. Must be available for on-call requirement from 6PM-8:30 AM, 7 days per week. 3-5 shifts minimum required per month. Requirements Minimum Education Meets current state, federal and other regulatory agency (ASHI) educational/experience requirements: doctoral, master's or bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. At least five years’ experience testing in accredited Histocompatibility or Immunological lab. Active CHS (ACHI) certification required.
