End Date: Ongoing temporary assignment

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Hours/Week: 36 hours

Licensure/Certifications: Ohio RN License, BLS (Basic Life Support)

Experience: Oncology experience preferred; EPIC charting experience required

What You'll Do

• Float to various Oncology Medical-Surgical (MS) units within a correctional setting
• Ensure safety of staff and inmates in a secure environment
• Provide nursing care to inmates with active oncology diagnoses or undergoing treatments
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage complex patient needs
• Use EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Respond to clinical emergencies with proficient cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• Maintain high standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance in a locked correctional unit
• Collaborate with corrections officers and healthcare team members to deliver patient-centered care

What You Need

Required:

• Ohio RN license
• BLS certification
• EPIC charting experience
• Oncology experience strongly preferred but not required

Preferred:

• Experience in a correctional or secure healthcare environment
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and medication management in an MS setting
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed

About the Assignment This position is based at a correctional health unit for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC). The unit maintains a secure environment with access controlled by corrections officers, serving inmates with complex medical needs, including oncology. The RN will float as needed across MS and PCU to provide high-quality care for diverse patient conditions, ensuring safety and compliance in a unique, fast-paced setting.
