Position Information Title: PRN CNM - Kalamazoo, MI Location: BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital – Downtown Kalamazoo Job Overview Bronson Medical Group seeks a PRN Certified Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Bronson Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists – Kalamazoo. The practice currently consists of 11 OB GYNs, 4 midwives, and 3 nurse practitioners. The organization serves patients and families throughout southwest Michigan and northern Indiana and includes a 45‑bed Level III NICU, a 34‑bed pediatric unit, and an additional 12 PICU beds with 24/7 MFM and neonatal coverage. Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive assessments utilizing expert knowledge to identify and manage high‑risk, complex patients. • Identify assessment, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic interventions within the plan that reflect current evidence, including data, research literature, and expert clinical knowledge. • Incorporate patients’ values and beliefs regarding nursing and medical therapies into care plans. • Identify patient/family/community health care and education needs and collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of teaching programs and materials appropriate to the patient's developmental level, learning needs, readiness to learn, and cultural values and beliefs. • Provide physical care to patients as necessary to meet patient care outcomes or education needs of staff. • Provide prescriptive authority, procedures, referrals, treatments, and therapies in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. • Engage in interdisciplinary teams, consult, and provide recommendations that facilitate evidence‑based practice and improve patient satisfaction, continuity, and cost effectiveness. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree (MSN or MS in Nursing) preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a midwifery certificate will also be considered. • Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience related to the area of practice. • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in a specialty area of practice; certification must be in good standing and valid in the state of Michigan. • Maintenance of Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications. • Ability to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with documentation and record keeping in the department. • Effective interpersonal relationship and communication skills applied to multiple group interactions, collaboration with interdisciplinary groups, and clear verbal and written communication.
