Axos BankTarget Range:$130,000.00/Yr. - $150,000.00/Yr.Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.About This JobThe Associate General Counsel provides legal expertise and strategic guidance to support the organization’s operations and compliance efforts. This role involves advising on corporate governance, regulatory matters, contracts, and risk management while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and policies. Working closely with internal teams and external counsel, the Associate General Counsel plays a key role in mitigating legal risks and facilitating business objectives.Responsibilities:Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, with a primary focus on mergers & acquisitions, securitizations, and commercial real estate transactionsDevelop and maintain standardized form contracts for routine business activitiesIdentify and mitigate legal risks to protect the Bank’s interestsEnsure adherence to the Bank’s legal policies and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulationsProvide timely, practical, and solution-oriented legal support to all Bank business unitsQualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a highly regarded law schoolA minimum of 5 years of experience at a major law firm, with a strong focus on mergers & acquisitions and securities law, including the drafting, review, and negotiation of transaction documentsExperience with real estate transactions is a plus but not requiredFamiliarity with third-party service provider agreements is preferred but not mandatoryStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and strategic planning abilitiesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentProven capacity to manage a diverse and complex workload effectivelyExcellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skillsOutstanding organizational skills with strong time management and follow-up capabilitiesActive California Bar membership in good standing, with no disciplinary historyAxos Employee Benefits May Include:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Sick Leave, 3 weeks’ Vacation, and Holidays (about 11 a year)HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings PlanEmployee Mortgage Loan Program and free access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed TradingAbout AxosBorn digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
