Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality of products during various stages of production. This role requires the individual to work on the 2nd shift and undergo training on the 1st shift for an initial period to learn job duties, systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety regulations while contributing to the overall success of production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection and Testing: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of products, components, and materials using a variety of tools and measurement equipment.
• Documentation and Reporting: Record inspection results and report discrepancies, defects, or deviations from quality standards. Maintain accurate records and logs of inspections.
• Collaborate with Production: Work closely with the production team to address quality issues, provide feedback, and suggest improvements.
• Identify Root Causes: Investigate product defects or failures and identify potential root causes to prevent future issues.
• Compliance: Ensure that products and processes comply with internal and external quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives by providing input on quality issues and participating in problem-solving exercises.
• Training and Development: Train on 1st shift for a designated period to understand company procedures, tools, and expectations before transitioning to the 2nd shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in quality control or inspection preferred.
• Previous experience in quality inspection or manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Basic knowledge of quality control principles and inspection techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or non-conformities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Flexibility to train on 1st shift for an initial period (typically 2-6 weeks, depending on individual progress).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or sit for long periods during inspections.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
• Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) to perform visual inspections.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing or production environment.
• Exposure to machinery, noise, and possible hazardous materials (appropriate safety gear provided).
