Description Title: Lecturer Hiring Unit: College of Social Sciences Location: UH at Manoa Date Posted: 09/03/2025 Closing Date: Continuous Salary Information: Minimum Salary $1,978.00 per credit hour. Full Time/Part Time: Part Time Temporary/Permanent: Temporary Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool for current and future semesters, day and/or evening courses, including Outreach extension and summer courses. Contingent upon registration, position availability, course offerings, departmental need, and funding. Positions are part-time, non-tenure for lecturer candidate pool. Lecturers are required to reside in and teach from Hawaii. Responsibilities: Teach courses in Anthropology, Economics, Ethnic Studies, Geography & Environment, Manoa Academy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration Program, School of Communication & Information, Social Sciences, Sociology, Urban & Regional Planning, and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Meet course requirements as established by the department/program, prepare course syllabus, grade assignments, and maintain weekly office hours. Qualifications: Master’s degree from a college or university of recognized standing, with major work in the field or related field in which the instructional assignment is made or duties performed. Evidence of ability to teach effectively, direct group discussions, and/or provide clinical supervision. Demonstrated professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.
