Data Product Owner

Overview Data Product Owner — 6+ month contract (W2 ONLY - NO C-C) • Plano, TX (Hybrid) As a Data Product Owner, you will support the development and delivery of data products and platforms that empower business units across the company. You will work closely with Sr. Product Portfolio Owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to help translate business needs into clear product requirements and assist in managing the product backlog. Responsibilities Assist in defining and prioritizing product features and user stories based on business needs and stakeholder input. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, data science, and business units to gather and clarify requirements. Support the Portfolio Owners in maintaining the product backlog and ensuring timely delivery of product increments. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to help drive continuous improvement. Help communicate product updates and progress to stakeholders and team members. Monitor product performance and gather user feedback to inform future enhancements. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to data products. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. 3 years of experience in data product management or related roles. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Firm understanding of data platforms, analytics, or business intelligence concepts. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Direct experience with data analytics or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Exposure or some experience with AI/ML concepts as applied to data products. Certifications related to Agile or product ownership (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) are a plus.
