The Mechanical Assembler will build small drones (3 feet or smaller) for defense applications, working at an individual bench in a clean, climate-controlled environment. This role involves assembling mechanical and electrical subassemblies using small hand tools, performing quality checks, and following detailed checklists and procedures. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and solid computer skills to work with ERP and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small drones and related subassemblies using hand tools, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Work with small parts, tight tolerances, and precision components to build mechanical, electrical, and optical assemblies.
• Perform quality checks on parts and assemblies to verify they meet specifications and were made properly.
• Follow detailed checklists, procedures, and work instructions consistently to ensure high-quality builds.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Handle and assemble components in accordance with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS 9100, and TS16949 where applicable.
• Apply quality control practices to prevent and detect defects, including awareness and prevention of FOD (Foreign Object Debris).

Work Environment

The work takes place in a clean, climate-controlled production facility with a relaxed and professional atmosphere. You will work primarily at an individual workbench, assembling small drones and subassemblies using hand tools, measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, and computer systems including ERP and Microsoft Office.

The facility supports high-quality, aerospace- and medical-grade assembly with a focus on quality standards like ISO 9001, AS 9100, and TS16949.

Standard schedules are Monday through Friday on either 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute breaks per shift. Overtime is expected as production needs arise.

The environment is organized, FOD-aware, and designed for focused bench work with clear procedures and checklists guiding daily!

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Atlanta,GA.
