Join The Spirit of You LLC as a Community Engagement & Respite Specialist and become a champion of change for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is simple: We help empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to live their best life. We partner with each client to identify meaningful goals and support them every step of the way as they work toward achieving them. Goals may range from volunteering at a local food bank, learning how to order food at a favorite restaurant, building friendships, participating in community activities, increasing independence, or developing daily living skills. No goal is too small or too great! As a Community Engagement & Respite Specialist, you will provide individualized community engagement and respite services that promote independence, inclusion, confidence, and personal growth while providing temporary relief and support to caregivers. Every day is an opportunity to help someone reach their fullest potential. This is an in-person position serving clients in Cowlitz, King, Lewis, and Thurston Counties. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Applicants must possess one of the following: High School Diploma or GED Bachelor’s Degree Master’s Degree Doctoral Degree Certified Life Skills Coach Degree in Psychology Degree in Sociology Degree in Social Work Degree in Education Other closely related field REQUIREMENTS Must have a valid Washington State Driver License. Must have reliable transportation. Must maintain current automobile insurance. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. REQUIRED SKILLS Compassion Kindness Professionalism Ability to work independently Strong problem-solving skills Commitment to client-centered services ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide community engagement services that encourage community inclusion and meaningful participation. Provide respite services that ensure clients receive safe, compassionate supervision while giving family members and caregivers temporary relief. Assist clients in identifying and achieving goals outlined in their individualized service plans. Teach and reinforce independent living, communication, and social skills. Accompany clients to community activities, volunteer opportunities, appointments, recreational outings, and other approved events. Collaborate with families, guardians, and case managers to support each client’s goals. Complete daily progress notes, 30-day initial plans, 90-day reports, quarterly reports, and other required documentation. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all policies and procedures of The Spirit of You LLC. WAGES Starting at $17.00 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
