Key Details Location: Rochester, New York Specialty: Psychiatry Candidate Type: MD (Medical Doctor) Assignment Dates: January 12, 2026 – November 27, 2026 Shift Options: Weekdays: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM or 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM Weekends: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, or 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM Shift Lengths: 8, 10, or 12 hours Setting: CPEP Unit (56 adult beds, 27 child & adolescent beds) Patient Population: All ages, high-acuity Daily Volume: 25–40 patients; 10–12 admissions across the clinical team EMR: Epic Compensation: $250 per hour Benefits Competitive hourly rate Travel and lodging reimbursed (airfare, hotel, mileage, car rental, gas, tolls, parking) Flexible scheduling options Opportunity to work in a collaborative, academic-style environment Malpractice coverage provided Job Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment in a high-acuity emergency setting Manage admissions and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team Collaborate with MDs, APPs, social workers, residents, and nursing staff Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR system Ensure quality and continuity of patient care Qualifications Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry Active and unrestricted medical license Experience managing high-acuity psychiatric cases Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment Working Hours Flexible weekday and weekend coverage 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts available No overtime paid Skills Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills Experience in emergency or crisis psychiatric settings preferred Effective communication and collaboration abilities Ability to manage high patient volume in a fast-paced environment
