Labor & Employment Associate

A leading Am Law 100 law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Houston office. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of employment, commercial, and/or complex litigation experience and a strong interest in sophisticated labor and employment matters. Responsibilities: Advise employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including workplace disputes, investigations, counseling, and litigation. Handle employment and business-to-business disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and restrictive covenants. Conduct complex fact investigations and legal analysis. Draft employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Support clients across a range of industries, from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups. Manage court filings and assist with all aspects of complex litigation. Qualifications: 2+ years of employment, commercial, and/or other complex litigation experience. Strong academic background and excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills. Knowledge of court filing procedures and experience conducting complex fact investigations. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Admitted to and a member in good standing of the Texas Bar. Federal clerkship experience is a plus. Resume, cover letter, original writing sample, and law school transcript required with application.
