Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $35.00 to $40.00 per hour. Job Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate accounting records and general ledger balances. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Support month end and year end close processes by preparing schedules, reports, and supporting documentation. Monitor restricted funding activity and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with applicable requirements. Assist with audits, financial reporting, payroll support, and accounts payable activities as needed. Requirements A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within nonprofit, grant, or public accounting environments. Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition, and financial reporting practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting systems. Ability to analyze financial information and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Qualifications Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills for identifying and resolving discrepancies. Effective communication skills for collaborating with finance, program, and operational teams.
