Police Officer

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our law enforcement team as a Police Officer. As a Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law within our community. Duties Enforce laws, respond to emergency calls, and patrol assigned areas Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses Make arrests and participate in court proceedings Provide assistance to the public and ensure community safety Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records of incidents Look for suspicious activities and check on suspicious persons Respond to disturbance calls Arrest suspects who violate the law Respond to dispatched calls and complaints Assist in criminal investigations along with presenting evidence in court Assist in interviewing victims and witnesses Process property and evidence Record and present evidence in court cases Maintain a physical presence at events to prevent behavioral problems Perform other tasks as assigned and required by the Chief Qualifications Candidates interested in this role must have a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). MUST have a Current Virginia Law Enforcement Certification . Possess a valid driver's license. Live or be willing to move within a 60 mile radius of Haymarket. Have the ability to read and comprehend Virginia Code and Departmental Policies. NOTE: This general listing of duties is not intended to be all-inclusive.
