Title I Teacher, Grades K-4 Literacy

Job Title: Title I Teacher, Grades K-4 Literacy Location: Balch Elementary School, Norwood, Massachusetts Position Type: Full-time Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 per year Start Date: August 26, 2026 Responsibilities: Provides targeted, ongoing Tier II literacy support to students identified as most at risk of meeting literacy targets, in both Title I School-Wide and Title I Targeted Assistance schools in the district. Adheres to and supports all mandates of the Title I Federal law requirements. Uses either a push-in or a pull-out model to assist students with supplementary (Tier II) instruction beyond the classroom instruction. Uses assessment data to target instruction and monitor student’s progress. Collaborates with classroom teachers, other staff, Building Principals, ELA/Title I Coordinator to identify students needing further intervention. Assembles appropriate instructional materials and develops differentiated lesson plans to meet students’ needs. Evaluates the progress of all students receiving services. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Building Principal. Works in partnership with Reading/Literacy Specialists and EL Teachers to coordinate services to students efficiently. Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts certification/licensure for elementary education. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; bachelor’s degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
