We uplift and revitalize communities through the success of our students and through inspiring them to uplift our communities now and forever and through the development of educational and other supportive partnerships.The Team Member we are searching forThe ideal Inclusion Specialist believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success.What you will need to accomplish:Instruct and serve students whose needs have been identified in an Individualized Education Program (IEP) developed by the IEP teamInform and assist students with disabilities and their parentsConsult on resource information and material regarding students with disabilities to parents and general education staff membersCoordinate special education services with the regular school programs for each student with disabilities enrolled in the resource programMonitor student progress on a daily basisCo-Plan/ Co-Teach/Direct Service ModelProvide behavior support, basic academic skills, organization and study skills, social skills, and use of cognitive strategiesOrganize classroom systems/procedures and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learningEstablish an environment where students are excited about learning and preparing for collegePrepare lesson plans for substitutes, if neededBuild strong relationships with students and parentsCommunicate with parents/guardians on a weekly basisIdentify each student's areas for improvement and work with the student, family, and internal resources to suggest options for improvementProvide continual assessment of student progress, maintain student records and portfolios, and complete assigned paperwork in provided timeframesCollaborate with the teachers to meet the needs of all studentsAttend and participate in Academic Success Team, Parent/Teacher Advisory Council, and other school-based meetings and activitiesPerform disseminated leadership dutiesAttend and implement professional development training throughout and beyond the school yearDetail-oriented when tracking students' grades, attendance, etceteraWork with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and the Director of Professional Development to ensure teaching methods are directed towards meeting and surpassing the standardsPerform other duties as assignedWhat do we require from you?Minimum QualificationsEducation:Possession of a valid Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential ORUniversity Internship Credential eligible (Intern eligibility letter required) ORQualification for a permit if the applicant does not possess a credential is required. PUC Schools can further advise on qualifications after an application has been submittedExperience:Solid knowledge of the subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessmentsPrevious experience and knowledge of State and Federal guidelines for Special EducationSkills and AbilitiesKnowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientationProficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Alignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticityMust be flexible and team-orientedAble to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentBilingual in Spanish preferredRegular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this positionThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below.
