Medical Receptionist -Biologic Medication Pre-Authorizations

Birmingham, AL Pay From: $20 Per Hour

MUST: 3+years of medical office experience in a multi provider private physician practice

Gastroenterology experience is preferred

Obtaining pre-authorizations on biologics and infusion medications

Following with insurance companies to get approvals on denied medications

Checking in patients

Schedule appointments

Verifying insurance benefits

Obtaining co-pay assistance

Act as an advocate for patients with insurance companies

Research best options to obtain discounted rates on medications

Providing customer service skills and assisting medical patients as needed

Ability to work in a high volume environment

DUTIES: The Medical Receptionist duties include but are not limited to the following:

Obtain pre-authorizations for prescriptions and or biologics

Follow up with insurance companies on denied medications to show

Verify insurance coverage

Respond to referral calls

Follow up with insurance companies on denied medications or biologics

Schedule procedure appointments

Enter patient information into EMR

Collect co-pays and outstanding payments

Provide customer service

Assist patients as needed
