Pay Range: $16/hr (W2)
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Job Description

We are seeking a  Custodial Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in  facility cleaning, sanitation, and floor care and a proven ability to  maintain safe, clean, and compliant facilities that meet State of Arizona standards .

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, corridors, entrances, and assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and maintain hard-surface floors using proper equipment and products.
• Vacuum, spot-clean, extract, and shampoo carpets as required.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, fixtures, furniture, doors, glass, walls, and other building surfaces.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, partitions, mirrors, dispensers, and floors.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of trash, recycling, and routine facility waste per procedures.
• Restock custodial supplies and restroom consumables and report shortages to a supervisor.
• Mix, handle, label, store, and use cleaning chemicals per manufacturer instructions, SDS, and safety requirements.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment, including vacuums, floor machines, auto-scrubbers, extractors, buffers, and pressure-washing equipment.
• Perform periodic and project-based cleaning such as deep cleaning, floor care, carpet extraction, high-dusting, and wall washing.
• Assist with facility preparation for meetings, special events, inspections, and operations.
• Move and handle equipment, supplies, furniture, and materials to complete assigned work.
• Maintain work areas and custodial storage spaces in an orderly, secure, and sanitary condition.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, spills, and leaks.
• Support building security by following procedures for securing areas, doors, equipment, and facilities.
• Provide courteous and professional service to employees, visitors, contractors, and occupants.
• Perform work requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and movement across facility areas.
• Follow work schedules, task assignments, SOPs, quality-control requirements, and State policies.
• Perform other related custodial and facility-support duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with routine and specialized custodial cleaning in office and public facility environments.
• Knowledge of floor care methods, carpet care, and safe operation of custodial equipment.
• Ability to follow SDS guidance and chemical-handling, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Reliable attendance for a 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM onsite shift and ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in State or public-sector facilities with established quality standards.
• Familiarity with infection-control practices and quality-control checklists.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in indoor and outdoor facility environments with possible exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, dirt, odors, wet surfaces, and varying temperatures. The role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving custodial equipment and supplies. Employees must follow safety practices, personal protective equipment requirements, chemical-handling procedures, and sanitation standards.
