Senior Data Science Manager

Lead machine learning that strengthens customer management and helps drive real-time decisions. This onsite role in McLean, VA at the US Card data science organization focuses on building top-tier models for real-time customer behavioral prediction and valuation forecasts , using large-scale data and a broad stack of data and ML technologies. You will work in a team environment alongside data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, partnering closely with teams across the Upmarket business , engineering, analytics, data science/quants, and product. The work is designed for leaders who can translate complex modeling work into business goals while advancing talent and technical execution. What you’ll do Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers , to deliver products customers love Use a broad technology stack, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark (plus additional tools) to uncover insights hidden in large numeric and textual datasets Own machine learning development end to end: design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation Communicate technical work clearly by aligning complex analysis with tangible business goals Team focus As part of the US Card data science organization, the team supports the customer management business. Models address multiple customer needs through real-time behavioral prediction and valuation forecasts . You will collaborate with Upmarket and partner teams across engineering, analysts, data science/quants, and product. Required qualifications One of the following degree and experience paths (with the expectation the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date): Bachelor’s in a quantitative field plus 7 years of experience performing data analytics Master’s in a quantitative field (or an MBA with a quantitative concentration) plus 5 years of experience performing data analytics PhD in a quantitative field plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics At least 2 years leveraging open source programming languages for large-scale data analysis At least 2 years working with machine learning At least 2 years utilizing relational databases PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) plus 4 years of experience in data analytics At least 1 year of experience working with AWS At least 1 year of experience managing people At least 5 years of experience with Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis At least 5 years of experience with machine learning Technology stack Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, Scala, R Candidate profile Creative problem-solver who defines approaches for big, undefined problems and shares new ideas Leader who challenges conventional thinking and focuses on talent development Technical builder with hands-on experience using open source tools and cloud computing platforms Statistically-minded modeler who understands evaluation and validation, including backtesting and metrics such as ROC curves and confusion matrices Data-focused practitioner comfortable working with large and diverse datasets, including retrieving, combining, and analyzing data from multiple structures Compensation (McLean, VA): $229,900 - $262,400 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr DataJobs.com
