Title Dental assistant Job Description Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment, adhering to strict infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures (general, pediatric, prosthodontics, endodontics) by passing instruments, managing suction, and handling dental materials. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems; document treatment details accurately and maintain confidentiality. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in assessing patient health status. Provide excellent patient service, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering inquiries. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and cleaning of treatment areas. Assist with medical documentation related to dental procedures and coordinate patient care. Salary Range full-time $22 - $27 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Shift & Schedule Monday: 7 AM – 4:30 PM Tuesday: 7 AM – 4:30 PM Wednesday: 7 AM – 5 PM Thursday: 7 AM – 12 PM Friday, Saturday, & Sunday: Closed Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a Dental Assistant (1-2 years preferred). Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including chairside assisting, X-ray techniques, infection control protocols, and oral anatomy. Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing as required by Florida state law. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex dental terminology clearly to patients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining sterilization and accurate documentation. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Preferences Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately. Experience in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Bilingual proficiency.
