Environmental Scientist Journeyman

Environmental Scientist/Engineer – Journeyman We are looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist/Engineer to assist with the U.S. Air Force’s Environmental Restoration Program. This support will provide Advisory and Assistance (A&A) services to AFCEC/CZO and CZR. Compensation & Benefits Estimated Starting Salary Range: Pay commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Provide specialized advisory and assistance (A&A) support services to the Air Force, including: Air Force environmental restoration program management processes Environmental investigation and remediation contract oversight Safety briefings and accompanying remediation contractors into controlled areas and providing controlled area safety briefings Development of statements of work and independent government estimates for environmental investigation and remediation contracts Reviewing investigation and remediation contractor’s deliverables including work plans, investigation reports, and recurring performance reports Conducting data gap analysis using ERPIMS data and submitting Data Gap reports Developing and refining current year and out‑year project requirements to move sites toward site closure Reviewing environmental investigation and remediation project schedules Updating Management Action Plans, Community Relations Plans, and other general Installation documents with the latest site cleanup information and status Assist with technical presentations to Air Force stakeholders in coordination with a variety of project stakeholders. Management of technical teams to include workload distribution and timely deliverable submittals. Interaction and correspondence with installation and AFCEC program managers. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications A bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering or scientific discipline university, or a related field is required. Substitution for a master’s degree based on experience is acceptable. Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in environmental restoration under RCRA and CERCLA. Experience with Performance‑Based Remediation (PBR) and Optimized Remediation Contracts (ORC) with one or more federal agencies. Experience with contract acquisition processes, including Air Force, GSA, and USACE contract vehicles. Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP), and Federal Acquisition Regulations related to site investigation, cleanup, and closure. Experience interacting with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies preferred. Strong organizational and excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance required; DoD NACI clearance is also required.
