Picture your morning: coffee in hand, you review today’s permits and drawings for a mixed-use retrofit. By 8:00 a.m., you’re onsite guiding a crew through safe gas piping installation, coordinating a pressure test, and confirming compliance with New York State Plumbing and Fuel Gas Codes. Midday, you meet the inspector, close out yesterday’s inspection report, and advise a general contractor on boiler venting. By afternoon, you’re estimating labor and materials for a commercial kitchen build-out, then fielding an urgent call to troubleshoot a residential gas leak—resolving it with precision and care. That’s a day in the life of our New York State Licensed Master Plumber.

What you’ll take ownership of

• Full-scope installation, service, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and equipment across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• End-to-end gas piping for natural gas and propane systems, including leak detection, pressure testing, commissioning, and documentation.
• Installation and servicing of gas-fired equipment: boilers, water heaters, furnaces, and commercial appliances.
• Blueprint/schematic interpretation; accurate takeoffs; estimating labor, materials, and project timelines.
• Permitting, filings, and coordination of inspections with local authorities; strict adherence to New York State Plumbing Code, Fuel Gas Code, and municipal regulations.
• Diagnosis of complex plumbing and gas system issues; development of safe, effective repair strategies.
• Field leadership: supervise journeyman plumbers, apprentices, and subcontractors; uphold OSHA and company safety standards.
• Meticulous recordkeeping, including service logs, inspection reports, and project documentation.
• Occasional after-hours emergency response as needed.

What you bring Required

• Current New York State Master Plumber License .
• 5–10 years of progressively responsible plumbing experience with substantial fuel gas piping and gas equipment installation.
• Strong knowledge of New York State Plumbing Code and Fuel Gas Code, plumbing systems/components, and gas-fired equipment.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with pressure testing, gas leak detection, and system commissioning.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, rooftops, basements, and active construction environments.

Preferred

• Background on commercial and industrial projects.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• NYC Department of Buildings filing and permitting experience.
• Backflow Prevention Certification.
• Welding, brazing, and pipefitting proficiency.
• Track record leading field teams and managing projects.
