Lead Parking Equipment Installation Technician - 90% Travel

Job Description

Job Description

A confidential national installation contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Parking Equipment Installation Technician. This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands parking access and revenue control equipment, is comfortable working in active construction environments, and can lead a small installation crew while maintaining strong client relationships.

This is not a project-management-only position. The Lead Technician will work directly alongside another technician to install, connect, test and troubleshoot parking equipment at customer locations throughout the United States.

Weekly travel is required. Technicians generally depart Sunday evening or early Monday morning and return Thursday or Friday, depending on the project schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in parking-equipment installation projects.
• Install and connect parking gates, entry and exit terminals, pay stations, lane equipment, controllers and related components.
• Perform electrical, low-voltage and mechanical installation work.
• Troubleshoot installation, wiring and equipment issues in the field.
• Read construction drawings, wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
• Coordinate daily work with another technician and adjust to changing project conditions.
• Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors and project stakeholders.
• Provide progress updates and identify potential delays or site concerns.
• Test completed installations and confirm equipment is operating properly.
• Maintain accurate project and installation documentation.
• Follow jobsite safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.
• Represent the company professionally while working at customer locations.

Required Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience installing or servicing parking equipment or PARCS systems.
• Experience with manufacturers or platforms such as Amano McGann, TIBA, HUB, FLASH, SKIDATA or similar parking technology.
• Combined electrical and construction installation experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and equipment-related issues.
• Experience leading technicians, installers or small field crews.
• Strong customer-service and client-communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, make sound field decisions and collaborate with a two-person crew.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationwide approximately 90% of the time.
• Ability to work in active construction environments and perform the physical responsibilities associated with equipment installation.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to a major airport.

What Is Provided

• Company-provided tools and installation equipment.
• Company card for approved project-related incidentals.
• Weekly project assignments and travel schedule.
• Opportunity to lead parking-equipment installations throughout the country.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on parking-equipment technician who can lead from the field—not from behind a desk. This person takes ownership of installation quality, communicates well with customers, works effectively with changing crew assignments and is comfortable making practical decisions at the jobsite.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply with a résumé outlining their parking-equipment, electrical, construction and field-leadership experience.
