Sr. Account Manager

We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to lead a strategic customer relationship in the St. Paul Park, MN area. This role serves as the primary onsite representative and acts as a trusted technical advisor, relationship manager, and business partner to customer leadership.
The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for creating value through technical service, maintaining and growing revenue within the account, and driving customer performance, reliability, and profitability. This individual will oversee site priorities and projects, develop strong relationships across the customer organization, and lead and mentor onsite team members. Success in this role requires a proactive, consultative approach focused on solving operational challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement, and delivering measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary onsite representative, maintaining and growing business within a key customer account while identifying opportunities to expand value and revenue.
• Provide consultative technical expertise across cooling water, boiler water, and wastewater treatment programs, ensuring optimal system performance through routine testing, monitoring, and analysis.
• Build trusted relationships with engineers, operations personnel, and plant leadership, acting as a strategic advisor and extension of the customer's team.
• Proactively identify operational risks, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, developing solutions that drive measurable customer value and documented ROI.
• Manage day-to-day site operations, project priorities, inventories, chemical deliveries, and service activities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and business retention.
• Lead and support onsite team members through mentoring, training, workflow coordination, and the promotion of a strong safety culture.
• Conduct business reviews, communicate program performance and recommendations, and present technical findings to customer stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Develop and execute account growth strategies, manage profitability, maintain an accurate sales pipeline in SFDC, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across assigned operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in industrial water treatment.
• Hands-on expertise supporting cooling water, boiler water, and/or wastewater treatment programs.
• Experience analyzing operational data and recommending corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
• Proven sales skills and ability to build customer relationships and drive account growth
• Experience providing field-based customer support, including technical, operational, and laboratory expertise.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to individuals at all levels of an organization.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or science-related field.


Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience supporting refineries, petrochemical facilities, chemical manufacturing plants, or other heavy industrial operations.
• Water treatment experience specific to refinery operations, including cooling water, boiler water, wastewater, and influent water systems.
Previous experience mentoring or managing team members
