Responsibilities

• Triage and assess pediatric patients presenting to the emergency department; monitor vitals and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, including initiation and management of IV access and ports/IVADs as applicable.
• Perform procedures and infusions per physician orders; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely care.
• Provide family-centered care, communicating clearly with caregivers about plans, procedures, and expected outcomes.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and compliance with hospital policies.
• Maintain infection control standards, patient safety, and comfort measures; support ongoing pediatric resuscitation and crisis management as needed.

Requirements

• Current New York RN license (active)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• PEARS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• APHON certification or eligible/ completed APHON training
• Ability to work in a pediatric emergency department in a hospital setting
