Industrial PainterThis role focuses on high-quality industrial painting in a fast-paced production environment, including paint preparation, sandblasting, and spray application on metal components. You will work a Monday-Friday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with consistent overtime bringing the average workweek to around 50 hours. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesPrepare surfaces for coating by grinding, sanding, and thoroughly cleaning metal parts to ensure proper adhesion.Perform industrial painting using spray guns, including setting up, adjusting, and filling the spray equipment independently.Mix coatings to the proper viscosity and ratios according to specifications and application requirements.Read and interpret paint specifications and customer requirements related to coating thickness, finish quality, and cure times.Use measurement tools such as mil gauges to verify coating thickness and ensure compliance with specifications.Operate sandblasting and other blast equipment safely and efficiently to achieve the required surface profile.Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling, labeling, and storage of paints, coatings, and related materials.Monitor work in progress, inspect finished coatings for defects, and make necessary adjustments to improve quality.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with industrial coatings, solvents, and blasting equipment.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain a steady workflow in a fast production environment.Essential SkillsProven experience in industrial painting, including spray application on metal components.Strong sandblasting skills and familiarity with industrial blasting equipment.Ability to set up, operate, and fill spray guns independently for various coating applications.Hands-on experience with surface preparation methods such as grinding, sanding, and cleaning metal parts.Ability to mix coatings to correct viscosity and ratios based on technical requirements.Skill in reading and following paint specifications and customer requirements for thickness, finish, and cure times.Proficiency in using measurement tools such as mil gauges to verify coating thickness.Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.Reliable attendance and strong focus on quality, safety, and detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with industrial coatings and finishes in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.Familiarity with safe handling and storage of paints, solvents, and related materials.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to changing priorities.Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support both painter and helper tasks as needed.Why Work Here?You will join a production team that offers consistent overtime opportunities and a stable Monday-Friday schedule, helping you plan your time and earnings. You can expect a hands-on, shop-floor environment with exposure to noise, coatings, and blasting operations, where adherence to safety practices and appropriate work attire and protective equipment is essential.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
