Warehouse Material Handler (Picking/Packing) | Details and Compensation:

• Location: Columbus, NE 68601 - 100% on-site
• Payrate: $22.70/hr
• Required Availability: Full-Time | 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM | Rotating schedule (includes weekends)
• Rotation details:
• Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
• Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off

Warehouse Material Handler (Picking/Packing) | Summary and Highlights:


The Warehouse Material Handler (Picking/Packing) supports order fulfillment by picking, packing, scanning, labeling, and preparing shipments using RF/warehouse technology. This role also helps build and stage pallets for shipment, maintains accurate documentation, and follows site safety and housekeeping procedures to support a fast-paced distribution environment.

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Warehouse Material Handler (Picking/Packing) | Responsibilities:

• Process customer orders including scanning bar codes, picking product, and labeling boxes
• Pick and pack orders while verifying accuracy and proper shipment packaging
• Build pallets by scanning/retrieving completed orders and placing product onto pallets
• Re-palletize product for shipment and support shrink-wrapping/manifest tasks as assigned
• Maintain a clean, organized work area according to SOPs/work instructions
• Follow good documentation practices and complete required RF device training
• Support warehouse safety by reporting hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately
• Cross-train in other warehouse functions and provide backup support as needed

Warehouse Material Handler (Picking/Packing) | Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
• Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
• Previous experience required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven distribution environment
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents; basic computer/RF skills
• Ability to work well with others and also work with minimal supervision
• Experience with a Walkie Rider / motorized pallet jack preferred (not required)
