Senior accountant

Our client is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. This role support month end close, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger activity
• Perform month-end and year-end close responsibilities
• Reconcile bank, investment, credit card, and balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses as needed.
• Monitor revenue and expenses and assist with budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
• Support accounting for contributions, grants, restricted funds, programs, events, and other nonprofit revenue sources.
• Maintain accurate fixed-asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and other accounting functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• Experience preparing and posting journal entries
