School Bus Operations Manager (Division Manager) Job Purpose Lead the daily operations of a school bus facility to ensure safe, on-time service, strong customer relationships, employee engagement, and cost control. Serves as the on-site safety leader. Key Responsibilities Manage daily transportation operations, including hiring, performance, and discipline Ensure safe, reliable, and on-time student transportation Maintain adequate driver coverage and manage absenteeism Serve as primary contact for school district clients; attend School Board meetings as needed Drive performance using KPIs and ensure contract compliance Own location P&L; manage labor, fuel, maintenance, and overtime costs Oversee billing, invoicing, and budget/forecast activities Ensure DOT, federal, state, and company safety compliance Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, and spare utilization Oversee safety and bus technology (cameras, GPS, child check systems, radios) Support HR matters and submit required reports to Corporate Requirements High school diploma or GED (college degree preferred) CDL required 3+ years of transportation industry experience Supervisory or management experience preferred Strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office) Ability to work early morning hours Professional, safety-focused, and customer-oriented mindset Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
